2 Pizza Restaurants Robbed By Masked Gunmen

LA MESA, CA – Police searched Saturday for the masked gunmen who robbed two Little Caesars pizza restaurants in San Diego and La Mesa within 30 minutes of each other.

The first robbery occurred at 9:30 p.m. Friday at a restaurant located at 6017 El Cajon Blvd., in the El Cerrito neighborhood, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.

The suspect was wearing a black mask when he walked into the store, pointed a gun at a worker and demanded money, Heims said.

The suspect took an unknown amount of cash, left the store and was last seen walking northbound in the 4600 block of College Avenue, Heims said.

The suspect was described as a black man, 6 feet tall, wearing a black mask, black coat, black pants and black shoes, Heims said.

A second Little Caesars was robbed about 10 p.m. on Lake Murray Boulevard near El Paso Street in La Mesa by a suspect wearing a mask and using a gun, NBC7 reported.

"It obviously sounds like a series-related crime," Lt. Vince Brown of the La Mesa Police Department told NBC7. "They appear to be hitting the store just before they close."

The suspect was last seen running westbound from the store, Brown said.

The two stores are about four miles from each other.
