2012 GMIA Walk Up Mt. Helix

After bringing in the New Year last weekend, this weekend Grossmont-Mt. Helix Improvement Association friends and neighbors had their 5th Annual Walk Up Mt. Helix.

The Grossmont-Mt. Helix Improvement Assocation kicked off the new year by slipping on their walking shoes and taking an annual trek up the mountain that bears its organization's name on Saturday.

The 1.3-mile roundtrip walk wound up Mt. Helix and was a great time to visit with fellow walkers, children and lots of well behaved pooches.  When walkers arrived at the top, they were met by the San Miguel Station #21 firemen and fire engine.  There were light refreshments and wonderful music by Jan Conner.  Even all the dogs seemed to be having fun.  The view from the cross was spectacular and the foggy haze was just breaking up and lending us to another gorgeous day and 2012 in San Diego.
