3 Arrested During La Mesa Checkpoint
A total of 1,035 vehicles were screened in the recent DUI/driver's license checkpoint on University Avenue.

LA MESA, CA — Three people were arrested during a recent DUI/driver's license checkpoint in La Mesa.
Personnel with the La Mesa Police Department screened 1,035 vehicles in the 7200 block of University Avenue between 7 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to La Mesa Police Lt. Greg Runge.
Two arrests were made for suspicion of drunken driving, one for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and one arrest was made for suspicion of being drunk in public, Runge said.
