Around the World in Mt. Helix
Since 1979 Bob and Carol Caparas have been terracing their hillside with memorabilia from all over the world.
Bob Caparas has single-handedly built walls, bridges, trails, waterfalls, excavated soil and relocated boulders to create an eclectic landscape in their backyard on Mt. Helix. There is a tropical garden with bamboo and birds of paradise, Mayan & Aztec petroglyph hand-painted by Bob, a conifer forest with several different types of pines, Northwest coastal Indian totem poles, a small scale Stonehenge from rocks located on the property, cacti from Mexico with musical frogs, Corinthian columns and flagstone, a grotto and even an area for Buddha.
To walk their hillside takes time to see and experience everything that the Caprasas’ have to share and there is always something new to see whenever you walk through their property.
Their garden is being featured in San Diego Home & Garden this fall.
