CHP Cuffs Alleged DUI Driver After College-Area Chase

SAN DIEGO, CA: A suspected drunken driver led California Highway Patrol officers on a short pursuit through the College area early Friday and was arrested while trying to escape on foot, authorities said.

Officers attempted to stop a Ford pickup truck with an expired registration around 2:20 a.m., but the driver sped off, according to the CHP.

The driver bailed out of the truck on El Cajon Boulevard near 58th Street and attempted to flee but was arrested shortly afterward, according to the CHP.

The driver's name was not immediately available.
