The man was wanted for alleged elder abuse, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

LA MESA, CA: An elder-abuse suspect was behind bars Tuesday after a standoff in the Casa de Oro neighborhood outside La Mesa.
Aaron Spaulding, 31, holed up in a home in the 4000 block of Alta Mira Drive, just east of Avocado Boulevard, after allegedly assaulting a 78-year-old man late Monday afternoon, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The victim suffered minor injuries.
"Spaulding went into his home and refused to come out," sheriff's Sgt. Matthew Mays said. "Communication was established with Spaulding and after a period of time Spaulding eventually exited the residence where he was taken into custody for elder abuse."
