• Police ask for help finding missing La Mesa man suffering from dementia (nbcsandiego.com) — La Mesa police are asking for the public's help to find 62-year-old Harold Rose, who has dementia and walked away from his Amaya Drive home Saturday morning. Detectives say he took the MTS trolley to downtown La Mesa, then was seen near Fourth Street and La Mesa Boulevard and possibly at a Campo Road Wendy's later that day. Anyone who spots him should call 911 or contact La Mesa police immediately.
   

• County Loan Fund Proposal Could Add Capital for Santee Small Businesses (santeepulse.com) — La Mesa small businesses could soon tap a new county-backed revolving loan fund aimed at East County companies that struggle to get traditional financing. The proposal, up for a Sept. 1 vote, would channel federal and county dollars into flexible loans for working capital, equipment, and expansion in La Mesa, Santee, El Cajon, Lemon Grove and nearby unincorporated areas.
