What is the BMX Bike Park?

The Lafayette "Bike Park" is a Parks, Trails and Recreation proposed project for the upper Lafayette Community Park behind the baseball/soccer fields. (St Mary’s Rd)

It is also a short distance to Burton Valley Elementary, by the Rohrer Dr. entrance. The cost originally estimated at $12,980 is now estimated to be $343,000 to $500,000 and climbing. (Not including maintenance, insurance, law enforcement, parking etc.). The proposal is to develop 1.8 acres of ridgeline above Las Trampas creek and 50 ft. from the only endangered species habitat in Lafayette.  It is behind the soccer and baseball fields known as the upper community fields.The hill will be bulldozed to bare dirt, filled with large mounds of dirt, and surrounded by a 4 ft. fence.  It will look similar to the Pleasanton BMX
