
What are the prospects for successful transitions to democracy in Egypt and Tunisia? How about for any other country in the Middle East and North Africa that manages to topple its authoritarian government? What is the likelihood that transitions to democracy will be sustainable and enduring?
Dariush Zahedi is a lecturer in political science at UC Berkeley and a 2009-10 visiting professor at Bilkent University in Turkey. He has published two books on Iran.
