The Gardens at Heather Farm and The City of Walnut Creek have joined together to present a free all day workshop designed to help homeowners create a healthy landscape. On Saturday, September 10th from 9:00am to 2:30pm participants will not only learn about choosing appropriate plants for the garden and creating healthy soils, but also learn which plants attract a variety of birds, butterflies and beneficial insects. Participants will get a tour of the gardens, hands-on demonstration on ways to improve soil condition and information on managing pests and diseases in the garden without using toxic chemicals. You can also create a worm bin for $10 (fee for materials and worms).
