Founder of Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Girls to Visit Saint Mary's College

Jimmie Briggs, founder of the Man Up Campaign is visiting Saint Mary's College of California to speak with SMC students and offer a free public lecture entitled “Making the Work Yours: Action and Advocacy.”  The event takes place at 7pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in the Soda Center at Saint Mary's College, 1928 St. Mary's Road, Moraga, CA, 94556. Briggs is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, a journalist, author, activist, advocate and founder of the Man Up Campaign (www.manupcampaign.org) and was a special consultant for the United Nations Special Session on Children.  His organization addresses issues of violence against women, child soldiers and war-affected children, and he is currently continuing to develop the Man Up campaign, as well as doing work on a project in Haiti.
