Meet Morrie Turner, cartoonist

Come to the Lafayette library for a very special, fun and informative hour with Morrie Turner, the first African-American to have his own syndicated comic strip, Wee Pals.

Morrie has also spent his life helping others, particularly children, educating about civil rights and tolerance, about the dangers of the street and the importance of staying in school.

While Morrie talks about his life, his friendship with Charles Schulz, of Peanuts fame, he'll be drawing characters.

Morrie will have copies of "Super Sistahs", about African-American women and "Blacks in the Military Throughout History" for sale and signing.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center.
