If your garden has oak trees, compacted soil, or a corner that is saturated all winter and dries to cracks in the summer, native bunchgrasses and wildflowers are great allies for you and your oaks. Learn how to determine the best time of year for sowing seeds of California native plants, how to collect seeds after your plants flower, and how to defend your seedlings while they grow. During class, you will sow a flat of bunchgrasses and wildflowers to take home. A Botanical Garden tour on 8/27 is included with this workshop.
