Floret Blooms In Clocktower Complex in Lafayette

Florist opens in breezeway off Mount Diablo Boulevard.

"A dose of beauty — who doesn't need that?"

That was the saying for the day from Creative Director Phoenix Nguyen on Thursday, the second day of business at Floret in downtown Lafayette.

The new florist — offering delivery, weddings, office party arrangements, and classes and demonstrations in floral arranging — is filling with good smells the breezeway of the Clocktower Lafayette complex at 3581 Mount Diablo Blvd. It is across the breezeway from Patxi's pizza.

Nguyen, with 10 years of experience in the flower business, likes the downtown Lafayette feel — "It's a feeling that you belong as part of the community."

In the story, Nguyen said, "We're hoping … you come in and have a sense of the very familiar but within that I am hoping you will always find an unexpected surprise — whether with the quality of flowers or the originality and beauty of the designs."
