Girl, 16, Killed In Orinda Fire Identified
Another individual and a firefighter were injured in the Nov. 18 blaze on Moraga Way.

ORINDA, CA – A 16-year-old girl who died in a residential structure fire earlier this month in Orinda has been identified as Luca Katalin Gero, according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office.
The blaze that killed Gero and injured two others, including a firefighter, was reported in the 500 block of Moraga Way around 4 a.m. on Nov. 18.
It took nine fire engines to bring the fire under control by 5:08 a.m. The roof of the building collapsed, and a "flash over," when gasses trapped inside the structure ignite, also occurred.

A GoFundMe fundraiser set up to help Gero's family had raised more than $168,000 as of this morning -- more than $18,000 over its $150,000 goal.
