Lafayette Lava Pit To Close
Lafayette's Lava Pit restaurant never quite connected with the customer niche it was looking for, apparently, and a troubling sign of the times has appeared in their front window.
Fans of Lafayette's Lava Pit restaurant will be saddened to hear that the location will be closing May 4, with the restaurant chain saying they will be focusing their efforts on their remaining Lamorinda location in Orinda.
A sign in their window attributes the closure to "unforeseen factors," and we'd be interested to hear what those might have been. The restaurant will close for good at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 4.

Co-owners Sam Lim and Eddie Chan cut the ceremonial ribbon on their second Lamorinda location, next to Trader Joe's, in August of 2010.
