Lafayette Mayor To Step Down After 4 Months
Cam Burks is resigning the position effective April 20.
LAMORINDA, CA — Lafayette Mayor Cam Burks announced Monday night that he will be stepping down as mayor, effective April 20.
In a speech at the end of Monday's meeting, Burks said he was leaving to devote more time to his family and to a new professional opportunity in the Bay Area.
"Our mayor should be able to commit to the position 100-plus percent ... and I just won't be able to do this given these circumstances," he said at the meeting.
