Man Driving Forklift Killed In Lamorinda

LAMORINDA, CA — One person was killed in a forklift accident in Lafayette Monday afternoon. The victim's name has not been released because his family is still being notified.

Lafayette Police received the call around 3 p.m. of the industrial incident at a worksite on the 800 block of Avalon Avenue.

According to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, "Officers were later informed that a person who was driving a forklift was trapped. The fire department also responded and later pronounced the victim deceased."

Cal/OSHA responded to the scene and has begun an investigation. Lafayette police are also investigating.
