Motorcycle Thief Arrested Following Pursuit: Moraga Police
The motorcycle's owner heard it start in the middle of the night and called police. (Breaking)

LAMORINDA, CA — A suspected motorcycle thief was arrested after a pursuit early Thursday, according to the Moraga Police Department.
Just after 3 a.m., a Moraga resident called police to report that his motorcycle had just been stolen from the 300 block of Calle La Montana. A Moraga police officer spotted the stolen motorcycle being driven on Campolindo Drive and tried to stop the rider. The suspect fled south on Moraga Road, according to police.
The pursuit ended when the rider lost control of the motorcycle on Canyon Road at Country Club Drive.

The suspect tried to flee on foot but was taken into custody.
The suspect, 28-year-old Shawn Ham of Antioch, was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges of motor vehicle theft and felony evading, with additional charges pending for possession of heroin and driving on a suspended license.

The victim was able to recover his motorcycle at the scene and ride it home.
