Ooh, Anyone Smell Fresh-Baked Bread?

Lamorindans have been asking, repeatedly, for a French-style bakery to patronize. Well, one is coming, and it is so French they even have one of those brightly painted delivery vans you see running around Paris!

If you're a veteran reader of Lamorinda Patch (what, a whole month now?) you'll know that one of the biggest needs Lamorindans continually cite for our area is their wish for one of those fancy French bakeries - the kind anyone lucky enough to have been there sees in Paris and villages across France.

We've reported the arrival of La Boulange in Lafayette, coming now, we hear, to the Mercantile in Lafayette about Aug. 19.  The San Francisco-based chain has designs on the area, apparently, and just opened its Danville location.

The Lens, was on hand for the Danville opening to get a look at what La Boulange will be offering Lamorindans and the line-up is impressive. I also poked around the Mercantile to see how workers were coming with the Lafayette La Boulange - and to hurry them along a bit!

Should be a great place for all of you who have requested a bakery in our area.  As for me, I was unable to partake in the very generous product giveaway at their Danville location - I always pick the wrong time to start a diet.
