Larkspur-Corte Madera Weekend Planner Sept. 16-18
From images of the Giants 2010 season and shredding old documents to a coastal cleanup, a National Theatre London production and Isabel Allende, we have you covered this weekend.
Friday:
Writer Brian Murphy and photographer Brad Mangin talk about Worth the Wait. Murphy and Mangin present a treasury of images and memories of the San Francisco Giants 2010 season, from spring training to the stretch run, through the playoffs and the World Series.

Saturday:
Free shredding of up to two boxes of paperwork onsite at the overflow parking lot near today. It's a great chance to safely dispose of those old checks and tax returns or personal correspondence. Marin Sanitary Service is providing their shredder truck for this event, sponsored by the Corte Madera Community Foundation. Must show proof of Corte Madera residency.

If you go: This shredding event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot near Nordstrom’s, 1871 Redwood Highway in Corte Madera.
Saturday:
Even though Corte Madera isn't actually on "the coast," we're part of Coastal Cleanup Day because we have marshes and creeks that need a clean-up as part of this countywide effort. Meet at the overflow parking lot by Nordstrom's between 9:00 and noon this Saturday to get gloves and trash bags, choose your area, bring back what you pick up, and toss it in the dumpster for safe disposal.
If you go: After you're done, volunteers are invited to a free barbecue from noon to 2 p.m. at the Bay Model Visitors Center, 2100 Bridgeway in Sausalito.

Sex, food and money are high on the agenda as James Corden returns to the stage to play Francis Henshall - one man with two guvnors! Check out this smash-hit show straight from the National Theatre London. Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect £6,000 from his fiancee’s dad. But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Holed up at The Cricketers’ Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be re-united with Rachel. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple.

Isabel Allende discusses El Cuaderno de Maya (Maya’s Note Book) in this Spanish language event. Allende’s new novel is a frank and contemporary story about a young girl who, while struggling to overcome drug addiction, wrestles her demons and finds respite on a remote Chilean island. Allende is the internationally-acclaimed author of Paula and The House of the Spirits.
