Friday:

One day in September, a decade ago, all eyes were turned towards New York. Where are we looking now? Through fiction, reportage, memoir, poetry and photography,Granta 116: 10 Years Later  looks at how an event like 9/11 reverberates, with stories from Tunisia to Toronto. As part of an event series that spans the nation, writer Elmaz Abinader, journalist Jonathan Curiel and Granta 116 contributor Adam Johnson will explore this question through readings and conversation with educator Kieran Ridge.

If you go: The free event begins at 7 p.m. at , 51 Tamal Vista Blvd. in Corte Madera.

Friday:

The film is a riveting portrait of the great writer whose stories became the basis of the Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof. The film tells the tale of the rebellious genius who created an entirely new literature. Plumbing the depths of a Jewish world locked in crisis and on the cusp of profound change, he captured that world with brilliant humor. Sholem Aleichem was not just a witness to the creation of a new modern Jewish identity, but one of the very men who shaped it.

Award-winning filmmaker Joseph Dorman's work has appeared on PBS, CBS, Discovery Channel and CNN. He will be interviewed by moderator Arthur Asa Bergger via Skype at 6 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes.

Saturday and Sunday:

The most exciting family pet event of the year returns with Tillman, the world-famous skateboarding bulldog, agility training workshops for kids and their dogs, frisbee dogs, pet wellness presentations, over 200 local vendors featuring the latest in pet supplies,  and animals to adopt from participating agencies!  Check it out.
