40 Protesters Arrested At Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
The annual 'Action at the Lab' rally was held near the laboratory's west gate.

LIVERMORE, CA — Forty protesters were arrested during a protest outside the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory gate Monday morning, police officials said. The annual "Action at the Lab" rally and peaceful protest was hosted by the Livermore Conversion Project.
Police said those who were arrested for trespassing after blocking the lab gate were issued a citation and were released without going to jail. Last year, about 50 protesters were arrested for trespassing, according to police.
The annual protest, which includes a rally, march and action, is held on or near "Nagasaki Day" as a reminder of the Hiroshima bombing on Aug. 6, 1945.
