Vallecitos Fire Burns More Than 60 Acres Near Livermore
The smoke from the fires could be seen throughout the Tri-Valley area Sunday.

LIVERMORE, CA —Alameda County, Livermore-Pleasanton and Cal Fire crews have contained two brush fires near Livermore Sunday evening. The Vallecitos Fire, which was about 50 percent contained by 6 p.m., was reported near Isabel Avenue and Vallecitos Road at 3:51 p.m. The fires burned about 60 acres.
The California Highway Patrol temporarily closed some lanes of Highway 84 in the Pigeon Pass area between Isabel Avenue and the Highway 84-Interstate Highway 680 interchange near Sunol while fire crews battled the fires.
The fire agencies mobilized 30 engines, two tankers, helicopters and two bulldozers to fight the fast-moving fires, and it took about two hours to achieve 90 percent containment, said Aaron Lacey, a battalion chief
