Brush Fire Contained In Livermore

A brush fire that broke out in Livermore Sunday afternoon grew to at least 12 acres before it was contained.

LIVERMORE, CA — Crews contained a brush fire that broke out Collier Canyon Road in Livermore Sunday afternoon, Cal Fire said.

The Collier Fire, first reported shortly after noon on the 4200 block of Collier Canyon, had reached 12 acres with 50 percent containment shortly after 1 p.m.

By 4:40 p.m., it had been 100 percent contained, still at 12 acres.

There were no immediate reports of damage.

Fire season appears to be underway in California, with another blaze in Pleasanton charring more than five acres Sunday.
