Evacuation Warning Issued For Eastern Alameda County

An increased risk of fire spread is anticipated due to high winds and scattered thunderstorms forecast for the region.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — An evacuation warning has been issued for eastern unincorporated Alameda County due to increased risk of fire spread as a result of anticipated high winds and scattered thunderstorms forecast for the region.

"This warning is being issued in advance of the weather event because of the remoteness of this area and the limited egress routes, which may be inaccessible should this fire spread as anticipated," according to Cal Fire. "For those with pets or livestock, as well as those with access and functional needs, you are encouraged to leave the area. All others should be prepared to leave if the situation worsens or if they perceive a fire threat."

The evacuation warning covers a large swath of eastern Alameda County, stretching from Interstate 580 and the San Joaquin County line to the east to portions of Fremont located east of Mission Boulevard.
