28-Acre Grass Fire Burns Thursday Near Livermore Vineyards

The "Lab Fire" was reported around 11 a.m. in Livermore and contained shortly after 1 p.m., officials said.

LIVERMORE, CA — Smoke hung over Livermore Thursday as firefighters battled a 28-acre vegetation fire.

The fire — dubbed the Lab Fire by Cal Fire — was reported near 7900 Tesla Road, according to Alameda County Fire. The fire was reported around 11 a.m. and contained around 1:20 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

The fire was on the property of Sandia Laboratories, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department said.
