Firefighters Douse Kitchen Fire in Livermore
Officials estimate the damage to the home to be about $20,000.

Livermore Pleasanton Fire officials say a kitchen fire caused about $20,000 worth of damage to a home in the 2700 block of Kennedy St. on Friday.
“On their arrival, they [firefighters] found a single family home with light smoke coming from the front door,” Fire Battalion Chief Michael Miller said. “First arriving crews completed a search and extinguished the fire in the kitchen. Crews checked for extension of the fire to the attic and the rest of the structure. The fire was extinguished within the first 10 minutes. Crews remained on scene to overhaul the fire and complete the fire investigation.”
Miller said the fire started in the kitchen and was determined to be accidental.

Mille said, “The homeowner returned to the house after being gone for several hours to find the house filled with smoke. He immediately went outside and called 911. Because there was extensive smoke damage to the entire home the owner was able to arrange to stay at another house.”
No one was injured during the fire. According to Miller, the total damage is estimated at $20,000.
