Livermore Community Service Day Scheduled For Saturday

Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to register for projects, which include tree planting, school painting, trail maintenance and more.

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore is recruiting volunteers for Community Service Day, a joint venture between the city, the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District and the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District. Volunteers are encouraged to pre-register for a number of projects open to a variety of different age groups, including:

  • Altamont Creek Elementary School gardening and cleanup
  • Community Service Day clean up
  • Community Service Day setup
  • Del Valle Continuation High School painting and cleanup
  • Hagemann Ranch fence painting
  • Laughlin Road tree planting
  • Rodeo Grounds site prep
  • Sycamore Grove Park trail maintenance

See here to view and register for any one of the 28 available projects, along with information about which ages the projects are suitable for. Anyone under 18 needs to sign a Minor Volunteer Waiver, which can be uploaded, emailed, or brought to the event. See the link for further instructions.

The event starts at Carnegie Park on Saturday, May 6 at 8 a.m. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and light breakfast. After the service projects end at around 1 p.m., volunteers can enjoy a lunch cooked by local Rotarians, live music and a vendor fair.
