Herd Of 30 Life-Size Elephant Sculptures Coming To Livermore (patch.com) — Livermore residents will soon see a herd of 30 life-size Indian elephant sculptures installed downtown at Bankhead Plaza and Stockmen's Park from Oct. 10 to Dec. 6. The free exhibit, Livermore's only West Coast stop for The Great Elephant Migration in 2026, highlights wildlife coexistence and global conservation while showcasing how the city can host world-class cultural experiences beyond major metropolitan centers.
   

2. Invasive Golden Mussels Found In Lake Del Valle; Boat Quarantine In Effect (patch.com) — Boaters in Livermore should be aware that invasive golden mussels have been found in Lake Del Valle, triggering a 30-day quarantine on launching those boats at other East Bay Regional Park District lakes. Residents who recreate on the water will face inspections, small fees, and stricter cleaning rules aimed at protecting local reservoirs and aquatic ecosystems from further spread.
   

3. Local Leaders Call To End the Tri-Valley Homelessness Crisis (independentnews.com) — Livermore residents are seeing homelessness rise faster than the rest of Alameda County, and local leaders just met at the Bankhead Theater to push for stronger, coordinated solutions. The summit highlighted local programs like Goodness Village, CARE Court, and countywide Measure W funding, and urged Tri-Valley residents to engage with the Home Together 2030 plan before public feedback closes Oct. 1.
   

4. The Harmony & Historic Home Tour Returns (independentnews.com) — Livermore history and music lovers can spend Oct. 17 touring eight historic homes while enjoying live performances from more than 50 local musicians. The Harmony & Historic Home Tour winds through J, K, L, and Third Streets, benefits the Livermore Heritage Guild and Livermore-Amador Symphony Guild, and starts with ticket pickup and jazz at Carnegie Park. Early-bird tickets run through Sept. 30.
