Bicyclist, 14, Struck By Car In Livermore Expected To Recover

The collision, which prompted the closure of a busy Livermore road Monday afternoon, is under investigation.

LIVERMORE, CA — Police in Livermore are investigating a collision that sent a teenager to the hospital Monday afternoon. The crash was reported just before 2 p.m. after a car stopped at Cedar Drive at Murrieta Boulevard struck a 14-year-old bicyclist who was riding northbound on Murrieta Boulevard on the sidewalk, police said.

The teen was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover. Police said intoxication was not a factor in the collision. The collision investigation prompted police to close the busy street for several hours.
