Archie Gordon Bartholomew “Bart”

Gone to Glory 10/10/16
Born in Kalkaska Michigan, Mother Flossie Antoinette (Carroll) Bartholomew and Father Ralph Bartholomew.
Last survivor of 8 children four brothers: Alvin, Chuck, Mike, Les and three sisters: Isa, Clarice, Violet (VI). Archie had many nieces and nephews who always referred to him as Uncle Gordy.
Archie attended Belleville High School where he played football and was Capt. of the football team. he was the last in his Family to Graduate in 1951
He Served in the U.S. Navy from April 1952 til April 1956
Stationed on Guam during the Korean war. He Earned a Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
After his Navy service, he attended Cal-Poly, California State Polytechnic College graduating with a degree in
Engineering in 1960. He was immediately hired as an engineer at Lawrence Livermore Lab and retired
from the Lab thirty years later.
He was a Livermore Boys and Girls Soccer Coach for over ten years and assisted in forming both boys and girls soccer clubs known today as Fushion. He was known by “Mr. B”.
Archie Gordon Bartholomew is precided in death by his wife Joan Patricia Bartholomew and survived by his 2nd wife of 14 years. Archie Gordon Bartholomew is survived by his two Children, Daughter named Karen Elaine (Bartholomew) Reis, and son-in-law Jim in Castro Valley, Ca..grandchildren Richie, Matt, Jenny, and Jackie. Son named Michael Gordon Bartholomew and son-in-law John Marques jr of Livermore,Ca.. grandchildren Alex Culbreth, Timothy Allen Bartholomew his Wife Joy and one great-granddaughter Aurora Rose Bartholomew.
He will be missed by his dogs Punk and Snickers
Archie Gordon Bartholomew lived in Livermore California for 56 years and worked as an Electronics Engineer from 1960-1990 at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
He will be remembered as a gentle and kind man. He was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Acceptance was the answer to all his problems or challenges he met in life.
He loved to do crosswords and had a sharp mind til the day the Lord took him home. He could always remember his favorite song “In the garden” and the page number, he always remembered his baptism in Crawford Creek.
He always saw the good in everyone he would meet. He was a good listener and would always help you to see The solution and not the problem
