2016 YIBI Final Grand International Conference, August 20th

YIBI is an international organization devoted to providing youth with an experience of business participation in the real world.

"What does being an entrepreneur mean to you?"

This is the exact question YIBI President Erika Yang asked the audience during her wonderful speech at the YIBI Grand Final Conference. This year's 2016 YIBI Grand Final Conference was held on August 20 at Sofia University. YIBI has been planning and coordinating for this event for over three months, with officers working to help organize classes for the students as well as coach the teams individually.

Nine teams of four or five people competed in this event, with 38 participants coming from all over the California Bay Area. Each team worked tirelessly over the past months to put together a pitch, and their effort definitely paid off! The Grand Prize winner was Team Aquaroma, who wowed the audience and judges with their presentation. Team Guia won Second Grand Prize and Team Museic received Third Grand Prize. Chargé and Chargepoint, who each won the Honorable Mention Prize. Several teams also won prizes issued by our sponsors. Every team, whether they placed or not, presented skillfully and knowledgeably. The hard work they put into their projects was very obvious! Each individual took home with them the skill set of leadership skills, management skills, and mindset of what it means to be an entrepreneur. They all improved tremendously over the course of the Business Boost Camp, and continued to do so through semi-finals and in preparation for the Grand Final Conference, and we could not be more proud of them all. Overall, the night was a blast, with almost 200 people in attendance of both the Conference and the following dinner!

YIBI was founded in 2014 by Granada High student Erika Yang with the ultimate goal of providing youth with an outlet to express their interests in business, leadership, entrepreneurship, and beyond.
