• California Farmers Are Struggling to Sell Grapes as Demand for Wine Drops (kqed.org) — Grape growers in and around Lodi are struggling to find buyers this harvest, with some, like Berryhill Family Vineyards, leaving healthy grapes unpicked or planning to pull out vineyards. As global wine consumption drops and younger drinkers choose other beverages, many California farmers are losing money, cutting acreage, and weighing whether to switch from wine grapes to more profitable crops.
