3 Arrested In Connection To Shooting Murder Of Long Beach Man
Authorities said one suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder and two were arrested on suspicion of being accessories to murder.

LONG BEACH, CA — Three people were arrested in connection to the June shooting murder of a 35-year-old man, Long Beach police announced Wednesday.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded to a report of a shooting on June 16 outside an apartment complex in the 5500 block of Ackerfield Avenue. LBPD found the victim, David Nevarez, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
Officers arrested 40-year-old suspect Roland Barber in connection to a separate shooting that happened on June 29 in the same area, according to LBPD. While gathering evidence, officers said they believed Barber was also responsible for the shooting that took Nevarez's life.

Barber was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being held at Long Beach City Jail on $3 million bail.
According to authorities, Nevarez was standing outside his home when he was shot at around 9:58 p.m. Investigators don't believe that Barber and Nevarez knew each other, but authorities said it is possible they were involved in a "dispute" that escalated into the shooting.
