3 Injured And 1 Dead In Long Beach Stabbings; Suspect Arrested
The Long Beach Police Department arrested a 21-year-old man who is believed to be responsible for the string of stabbings.

LONG BEACH, CA — The Long Beach Police Department arrested a 21-year-old man in connection to three stabbing attacks that resulted in the death of one woman and injured three men.
The stabbings occurred Monday morning, starting at 5:35 a.m. when officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Atlantic Avenue where they found a woman who appeared to be in her 60s suffering from multiple stab wounds to her upper body. She was transported to a local hospital where she died due to her injuries.
According to LBPD Homicide Detectives, the man left the scene on foot before officers arrives and continued to the 700 block of Olive Avenue where a man was stabbed at 6:25 a.m. At 7:05 a.m. officers responded to Ocean Boulevard and 4th Place where two more men were stabbed.

Officers identified the suspect, Long Beach resident Yohance Sharp, with a knife at the scene and arrested him. The three men who were stabbed sustained non-life-threatening injuries according to LBPD.
Sharp was booked on one charge of murder and his bail was set at $2 million. Detectives said they are investigating the motive for the attacks.

"However, detectives believe the stabbings were unprovoked and the suspect and victims did not know each other," the LBPD said in a statement.
