Coroner IDs Long Beach Man Killed In SoCal Paraglider Crash

The 34-year-old paraglider died after crashing into the San Bernardino County mountain Sunday.

LONG BEACH, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau identified a Long Beach as the person who died in a paraglider crash Sunday.

The victim, later identified as Cameron Chapman, 34, of Long Beach, died on the side of a San Bernardino County mountainside Sunday, according to the coroner's report. His identity was released following notification of next of kin, they said.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m., firefighters called a hoist helicopter to the scene at the 200 block of Soboba Road and Gilman Hot Springs in Unincorporated San Jacinto. There, a paraglider had crashed near the 1,000-foot level of the mountainside, a spokesperson for Cal Fire /Riverside County Fire Department said over X, formerly known as Twitter.

As the firefighter/medics reached the victim, it became apparent the victim was already deceased.
