Guns, Drugs And Fireworks Seized In Long Beach Warrant Services

Just before the Fourth of July weekend, authorities recovered more than 50 pounds of fireworks as well as guns and drugs.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Drug Investigation detectives served two search warrants on Tuesday that resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine and other drugs, ammunition, firearms and illegal fireworks.

LONG BEACH, CA — Just before the Fourth of July weekend, Long Beach police seized more than 50 pounds of fireworks as well as guns and drugs in two separate warrant services, authorities said.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Drug Investigation detectives served two search warrants on Tuesday that resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine and other drugs, ammunition, firearms and illegal fireworks.

Police served the first warrant in the 1300 block of Pine Avenue where they recovered the methamphetamine, ammunition, one gun and fireworks.

The second warrant led to the arrest of one man as police said they recovered several firearms including one unserialized "ghost" gun, approximately 50 pounds of illegal fireworks and "a significant amount of narcotics consistent with possession for sales."

The suspect was identified as 45-year-old Genaro Cazarez Zuniga. Zuniga's bail was set at $0 and he was released at his own recognizance, according to LBPD.
