Rotary Route Mental Wellness Walk Returns to Granada Beach May 31

Rotary Club of Long Beach will walk miles to support Mental Health Awareness

The Rotary Clubs of Long Beach, Lakewood and Signal Hill are inviting the community to lace up their walking shoes and come together for the 2nd Annual Mental Wellness Walk & Resource Fair on Sunday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Granada Beach in Long Beach.

This inspiring community event promotes mental health awareness, wellness, connection and support while bringing together local residents, families, Rotarians and community organizations for a meaningful morning by the beach.

Participants can enjoy a 1K or 5K walk/run along a scenic route featuring uplifting Mental Health Awareness messages designed to encourage hope, healing and community connection. Attendees will also have access to a wide range of local mental health resources, community vendors and nonprofit organizations offering information and support services.

Featured community organizations participating in the Resource Fair include Mental Health America of Los Angeles, Helpline Youth Counseling, Howards 4 Hope, For The Child, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, Didi Hirsch, The Guidance Center, Speak Up For The Poor, 1736 Family Crisis Center, Salvation Army, Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center, the City of Long Beach Health and Community Services Department, Long Beach Health Department, T.I.P. Trauma Intervention Program, Roads Clinic, Growth Educational Services, Global Peace Foundation and UNA-USA Long Beach/South Bay GOPIO.

Special guest speakers include Kristina Duggan, Doug Haubert, Kelly Ruggirello, Dawn McIntosh and Rotary District 5320 Governor Craig Livingston, who will help kick off the event beginning at 9 a.m.

“This event is about showing our community that mental wellness matters and that support is available,” organizers shared. “Whether you walk the full route or simply stop by to show support, your presence makes a difference.”

Families, friends and even dogs are welcome to attend. Following the event, participants are invited to continue the fellowship with drinks and lunch at Monty’s Bar and Grill.

The Rotary Clubs are encouraging fellow Rotarians and community members throughout the region to come out in support of mental health awareness and community wellness.
