A homicide investigation is underway after police found a 1-day-old baby girl in a trash bin in Los Angeles, according to reports.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A homicide investigation is underway after police found a 1-day-old baby girl in a trash bin at a San Fernando Valley home Tuesday, according to reports.
The investigation began after police were notified after a 23-year-old woman arrived at a hospital with extensive bleeding. She was determined to have just given birth, KTLA reported.
Officers followed up at the woman's residence, located near Burbank Boulevard and Woodlake Avenue in Woodland Hills, ABC 7 reported.

The nature of the circumstances surrounding the baby's death are unclear.
The woman's attorney spoke to media outlets.
"She is fully cooperating with the police," attorney Tiffany Feder told NBC Los Angeles. "We're gonna let the investigation run its course."
The woman has not been taken into custody, though was interviewed for several hours by police, Fox 11 reported.
