$1M Mega Millions Ticket Sold At LA Grocery Store, Jackpot Up To $1B

No one snagged Friday's $940 million jackpot. That means Tuesday's grand prize swelled to an estimated $1.05 billion.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Mega Millions jackpot soared to more than $1 billion after no one won Friday's top prize of $940 million. And while no big winner came from Friday's drawing, a ticket worth $1 million was sold at a Los Angeles grocery store, according to lottery officials.

The numbers drawn late Friday were 5, 10, 28, 52 and 63. The gold Mega Ball was 18. The winning California ticket matched all five white balls, making it worth $1 million, according to the Mega Millions website.

In California, the winning ticket was sold at Ralph's, located at 17250 Saticoy St. in Van Nuys, according to state lottery officials.

Other big winners included a $5 million ticket sold in Pennsylvania, meaning the ticket matched all five white balls plus the Megaplier option. Tickets worth $1 million were also sold in Pennsylvania, New York, and Arizona, lottery officials said.

Across the country, 92 tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball to win the third-tier prize. Fourteen tickets are worth $50,000 each because they included the optional Megaplier. The other 78 won $10,000 each.

Since no one snagged the big prize Friday, Tuesday's jackpot swells to an estimated $1.05 billion with an estimated cash option of $527.9 million. The potential jackpot is the fifth time in the game's history it has surpassed $1 billion.

Winners would also be subject to federal taxes, and many states tax lottery winnings.

Drawings are held at 11 p.m. ET on Tuesdays and Fridays.
