6 Injured In Downtown Los Angeles Stabbing: Police

The stabbing happened near 7th Street and Broadway when a fight broke out between two groups of people, police said.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Multiple people were injured early Saturday morning in a mass stabbing in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said the incident started as a fight between two groups of people shortly before 2:15 a.m. near 7th Street and Broadway. During the altercation, the suspect — described by police as a 28-year-old Hispanic man — took out a knife and stabbed six people.

Police said the victims were six Hispanic males between 20 and 30 years old. The victims were taken to the hospital where police said they were in stable condition.

Police said the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident.

Authorities did not release the names of the suspect or victims.

According to police, the stabbing was not believed to be gang-related.
