Aaron Carter, Pop Singer And Actor, Dead At 34: Reports

Carter was the younger brother of The Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter. He was found dead at his California home, according to reports.

LANCASTER, CA — Aaron Carter, a former child pop star who also starred in television shows like "Lizzie McGuire" and "7th Heaven," died Saturday at his home in southern California, representatives for his family confirmed to The Associated Press and NBC News. He was 34.

Carter, the younger brother of Nick Carter of The Backstreet Boys, released his debut album in 1997. He toured with his brother's band and Britney Spears before his follow-up album, "Aaron's Party (Come and Get It)," was released in September 2000, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Carter's fifth and final album, "LOVE," was released in 2018.

Carter also appeared on his family's reality series "House of Carters" alongside Nick and their siblings B.J., Aaron, Leslie and Angel Carter. The show aired on E! Entertainment Television.

Leslie Carter died of a drug overdose in January 2012 at the age of 25, according to THR.

Deputies responded to his home around 11 a.m. following reports of a medical emergency at the Lancaster house, according to to Deputy Alejandra Parra with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Parra said the deputies found a deceased person at the residence, but she could not immediately confirm it was Carter.

TMZ first reported the news of Carter's death.
