Hale’s first role as an actor - an Eminem video filmed in Detroit, Michigan. This was a 2010 VMA Awards Music Video.
Martyn Hale spoke of the importance of the “power of perseverance” in the tv and film industry, stating, “it’s very crucial to anyone’s success on any level. When the pressure is on, you can’t afford to fold or give up just because it gets difficult. And it’s just something that I have learned; as an actor, in order to succeed one has to figure out a way to handle the pressure, so he or she can persevere through all of the rejections. Many rejections will come, but how and if you persevere, as you should, this will give you a big level up on anyone who chooses to give up on accomplishing their goals and dreams.” Concluding, “Never give up, to persevere is the only reasonable choice that one can make.”
Martyn Hale’s power of perseverance is abundantly clear. Early on in his career, he appeared in Disney’s “Just Kickin It,” and ABC’s “Switched at Birth.” Hale appeared in movies such as “The Shift'' which starred Danny Glover, and “Coldwater,” when he portrayed an inmate. Martyn Hale has been in countless commercials as an actor to include commercial work for Mattel on the Cartoon Network channel, an Oculus Rift commercial
and a Nike / Footlocker commercial, where he was featured alongside NBA Star, Blake Griffin.
It was recently, almost a decade after being cast in “The Shift” and “Coldwater” that Hale landed a role in one of the most anticipated films of the year, “Babylon.” Hale described in a recent interview how this came about.
Was the “power of perseverance” a factor you might ask? Absolutely, that was an important part of the equation.
Hale described in a recent interview how this came about.
Hale states, “While living in Michigan, I had sent a self tape to casting. I booked a music video shoot, so I booked a flight to Los Angeles for the music video. The next day while in Los Angeles for the music video filming, I was called in to meet with casting for “Babylon.” Later that month, I was booked as an actor on “Babylon.” I took this as God telling me that there was an opportunity for me in Los Angeles as an actor.
Martyn Hale continued to state, “Filming “Babylon” was fun and also a lot of hard work. It was filmed during the pandemic, so testing for Covid was a requirement before each day of filming. One day I was hurt and went in the medic trailer. The medic came in and said, “we are thinking of sending you home.” My eyes immediately filled with tears and he said, “why are you crying?” I said, “I’ve worked my entire life just to be in this moment, and I definitely don’t want to leave.” He said I'll see what I can do. Minutes later he came back and said, “you are good to go back on set.” Hale attributes life experiences as his training for his talent as a working actor, as there is the ability to pull from real life experiences. There is a sincere authenticity that is obvious when one speaks with actor Martyn Hale, and a true love of life and his for his work as an actor. He has also worked with professional acting coach Gary Imhoff, and Barbizon.

Hale states that he is happy to consider “all opportunities that come his way” in terms of forthcoming roles, stating that he would “love to be in a western movie,” and that he “would love to take on additional roles as a supporting or lead actor.”
