The chase was ongoing late Thursday morning.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Police pursued a woman driving a stolen traffic management truck across Los Angeles County Thursday morning.

KTLA aired live footage of the chase, which involved a fully loaded truck typically used for roadwork and lane closures. The California Highway Patrol eventually used spike strips to flatten the tires, but the driver continued driving on metal rims for miles.

The chase began in the Hollywood area some time before 10 a.m., according to KTLA.

The truck was fully loaded with a traffic warning sign extended on its roof. Its bed was full of barricades and other materials used for traffic detours.

By 10:30 a.m., the driver had made it to the northbound 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita and was heading toward the Antelope Valley.

By 11 a.m., the truck had made it to Palmdale. One of its front tires was deflated, apparently from a spike strip.

By 11:15 a.m., the truck continued to head north into the rural Antelope Valley, near the Kern County line, and both front tires had been deflated.

The driver was driving the vehicle on its rims at reduced speed.

She came to a stop in that area shortly thereafter. The woman left the vehicle with her hands up and was taken into custody.
