LOS ANGELES, CA — A 13-year-old boy is in critical condition today after being shot and stabbed during a confrontation at the 7th Street/Metro Center Station. Authorities are searching for his attacker.
The attack happened Wednesday at about 5:40 p.m. near the downtown Los Angeles Metro station, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Annie Moran. Officers established a perimeter and sought to close an alley at Wilshire Boulevard and Lebanon Street while searching.
Authorities initially thought there may be multiple juvenile suspects, and multiple media outlets reported that one suspect was detained but escaped handcuffs. However, by Thursday morning, Moran said there were no arrests nor escaped suspects.
