'Brady Bunch' House In Studio City Sells for $3.2 Million
After renovating the home with the "Brady Bunch" cast, HGTV sold the iconic house for less than the network paid for it in a bidding war.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The "Brady Bunch" house in Studio City that served as an exterior for the famed sitcom before its interior was used for HGTV's "A Very Brady Renovation" has sold. The $3.2 million sale price means HGTV took a hit on the deal.
The home was listed for $5.5 million and sat on the market for months until it was sold to Tina Trahan, a historic home enthusiast and the wife of former HBO chief executive Chris Albrecht. HGTV bought the 1950s home for $3.5 million in 2018 when it hit the market for the first time in 50 years.
Trahan told Patch she would not live in the house or rent it out on Airbnb. Instead, she plans to use it for charity.

"I feel you can't gut or renovate the house because then it wouldn't be the Brady house anymore," Trahan told Elmhurst Patch.
"We don't want people having parties there," she said. "If we were to loan it out, it would be more for a daytime situation. I don't want to disturb the neighborhood. I'm keeping it totally Brady. This is 'The Brady Bunch' house."

The record number of fans who tuned into watch all six Brady kids reunited for HGTV’s premiere of “A Very Brady Renovation” got to see something they never actually saw on the “Brady Bunch” — the Brady kids in the real Brady House. The home's exterior was used for the show's opening, but the interior scenes were shot on a studio set.
HGTV invested $1.9 million into turning the real home into an exact replica of the set. To do that, they had to add a whole second level, expanding the home by 2,000 square feet.
“Standout features in the completed home include the iconic floating staircase, the burnt orange-and-avocado green kitchen, the kids’ Jack-n-Jill bathroom and a backyard with a swing set, teeter totter and Tiger’s dog house,” HGTV said in a written release.
The real estate listing's 31 pictures just have to be seen to be believed. From the office where Mike Brady drew up his architecture plans, to the backyard where Peter accidentally broke Marcia's nose with an errant football, to the bunkbeds Peter and Bobby shared to the front entry where jealous Jan shouted "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia," every detail is painstakingly replicated.
