Brush Fire In Sepulveda Basin Is Area's Third Blaze Of The Day
Firefighters battled a fire in the Sepulveda Basin Tuesday. It was preceded by a canyon fire in Burbank and another in Griffith Park.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A fire scorched 2.5 acres in the Sepulveda Basin Tuesday afternoon. It was the third brush fire to break out in the San Fernando Valley area Tuesday.
The blaze broke out just before 1 p.m near the 5600 block of North Woodley Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The blaze was extinguisheda short time later with no injuries reported injuries.
"Woodley Ave, northbound from Burbank to Victory, will be shut down and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes," Margaret Stewart, LAFD spokesperson, announced as crews battled the fire.

No structures were threatened.
The blaze follows another in Burbank that scorched about 5 acres in the Sunset Canyon area and forced evacuations late Tuesday morning. Police believe that fire may have been intentionally set, and a suspect is in custody.

It follows an early morning brush fire in Griffith Park.
Just after 4 a.m. Tuesday, a small brush fire broke out in Griffith Park amid steep terrain. Firefighters were able to hold that blaze to about a quarter-acre. No injuries were reported, and no structures were threatened nor damaged in the fire.
Authorities have not said whether any of the blazes are connected.
