18th Street Arts Center (18SAC) in partnership with Great Leap and Highways Performance Space presents Manzanar Baseball Public Programs and Livestream Series, a multidisciplinary, community-engaged series of presentations led by Dan Kwong, Director of the Manzanar Baseball Project. Spanning documentary film, panel discussion, multimedia presentation, craft-based workshop, performance art, and a livestreamed baseball and culture event, the series focuses on the story of Japanese American incarceration during World War II. It honors the resiliency exemplified by a small community targeted by racism, warns of parallels to present-day threats to our democracy, and celebrates the cultural power of baseball.
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, 11 AM–3 PM, they will host Hiding in Plain Sight: Manzanar’s Camouflage Net Factory, a multimedia presentation and participatory camo net weaving workshop. Free, family friendly, and open to the public. Space is limited to 20 participants. Reserve your space now!
