Drop-in Workshop for Families: Día de Muertos with Lil’ Libros

Lil’ Libros author and illustrator Mariana Galvez hosts a special workshop in celebration of Día de Muertos. Inspired by Galvez’s book Little Astrology Catrinas, which explores the twelve zodiac signs and features the iconic imagery of La Catrina, you can identify your own Catrina, who can represent your favorite personality traits.

About Mariana Galvez

Mariana Galvez was born in Mexico and grew up in South Los Angeles. It was during weekend trips to the library in her childhood that her love for illustrating and writing was forged. After spending several years in the corporate world, she was drawn back to illustrating while creating art for her three children. Little Astrology Catrinas is her first collaboration with Lil’ Libros. She wants to bring a fresh... and imaginative perspective to Catrinas. She lives in Whittier, CA, with her husband, where she loves to garden, cook vegan food, and chase after her beloved dog and cat.

About Lil Libros

Lil’ Libros was founded by two mothers, Patty Rodriguez and Ariana Stein, who saw was a shortage of bilingual books for children. Their mission became to introduce bilingualism and Latin American culture through picture-board books. Lil’ Libros was created to inspire parents to read to their children and encourage them to do so in two languages. They believe children’s books are seeds that allow a child to turn dreams into reality. Their goal is to make the world a better place by providing authentic stories that promote inclusivity and love.
